Brief History of EdenHope & Origin of East-of-Eden [successor] – and certain Acknowledgments

May/June 2015

• “Now we are at the very end of our trail. Many people no longer recognize the true path of the Great Spirit. They have, in fact, no respect for the Great Spirit or for our precious Mother Earth, who gives us all life.”
Dan Evehema – d.6.2.1999 age 108

• “Nature itself does not speak with a voice that we can easily understand. Who in this world can speak  for  Nature and the spiritual energy that creates and flows through all life”
Thomas Banyacya – d.15.1.1999 age 89

No one can ignore these truths!

Yet those consumed with ‘mortal time’ will be unable to grasp the ‘galactic time’ we share in consciousness …so they will be in confusion. Man has brought great tribulation upon Creation …yet still persists in denial of it …

But we know: All things are connected …as that knowing comes straight from the heart.

The Vision of this warrior, first for EdenHope and then for what subsequently evolved into East of Eden …began to come forth many years ago, in 2003 …just as it became impossible to co-exist equitably any longer with the reality the fourth world had become… On a  personal basis, I could no longer accept it as a future for any of us…!

Ultimately, though, each of us must redress the Karmic imbalance we have sustained …if we are to become what it was hoped.

So it was that we entered upon a new threshold of understanding: that renewal could only begin once the process of repairing the broken relationship …between Man and Nature …was begun.

Even so, it wasn’t until the end of 2006 that we left Amerika definitively …one could not be indifferent to the increasing fascism spreading and despair all around …nor tolerate the slow and painful death of integrity …and daily interment of Truth and all that is Sacred.

But we had not just ‘to leave’ …not simply disappear into exile. But to find redemption and recover self-respect. We knew unequivocally we had to find a place where Comm[union]unity was possible …and that it would be in some remote tropic of the southern hemisphere.

Conceived in such an epiphany, the dream of EdenHope finally found its way to its magical tropical island in the South Pacific. How we found our way to Espiritu Santo [in Vanuatu] …is too long a story to recount here. But, still, it took until mid-2010 to find and lease the appropriate land in this special place …to suit the project. Thus, in a sacred space on West Coast Santo, EdenHope was finally born.

On 19 December 2011, the “EdenHope Nature Preserve” …was ‘Officially’ registered as a Conservation Area in accordance with the Constitution of Vanuatu, all 1,942 acres of it. [I believe it is also the first Nature Preserve in the world …to include Man in the inventory of biodiversity it set out to protect…!]  To care for what has been given us …is the single-most important task Man was ever invited to assume. No one realized that EdenHope had uniquely distinguished itself from all other ‘Nature Preserves’ in the world.

Membership in the Project was to be offered to ‘members’ who would recognize EdenHope as their path too …to accept what we are called for …but fail to see. Such members would know what they are bringing to the new world …as well as what they must leave. Thus would EdenHope gather the spiritual ‘horsepower’ needed to face the greatest challenge ever to confront the precious Earth…!

Visitors who wished to evaluate the possibility of joining EdenHope were to be received as guests for a limited period …simply by applying and entering into discourse about their suitability and their purpose. Prospective members could then participate in the life of EdenHope until such time as permanent membership was offered to them …or otherwise leave. The process would take many months.

Life at EdenHope became increasingly devoted to manifesting perfection in ‘body and spirit’ …and has attracted angelic adherents to what it began to calls its ‘Sacred Garden’ …and in so doing is expressing its current vision. Although striving for the highest Union possible, that did not include having children… In fact, by 2014, Edenhope had become virtually celibate.

While it appeared to be the arch intention of its small membership, it came loud and clear to me that throughout history …others also sought such unions …in fact even achieved it; but that did not represent a real future.

Hopi Elder who suggested ‘the time of the lone wolf is over…’ understood so expressed that futility …Devotion, no matter how sublime, could not alone overcome collective karma! Nor can the process of Evolution be served… Great Spirit does not impose ‘Judgment’ upon the material world no matter how appropriate that intervention appears to be…

Natural Law is so complete that the entire Universal CommUnity is necessary to carry out its Sacred Process …all must proceed according to the [Omnipotent] Law of Nature! …because that is how Great Spirit lovingly created ‘it’.

The vision I had been serving was emblazoned at the top of each page of the website, in dedication “…to the Children of the Earth”.  However, it was not getting any closer.  Meanwhile I was seeing reality as terminal and conclusive for the fourth world …and that little Time was left to create the fifth world…!

Yet it is for these Children that we Warriors are here! So as the dying world cedes to the new …it is we who must attend upon its birthing and protect it from the death-throes of the dying world at its perimeter.

This exhausted world will not simply, without resistance, cede to its successor in some ‘mystical’ ascendence as many see it. Indeed that is a fairy-tale, more of the delusion we were ‘taught’ to believe…

Failing to find my erstwhile ‘family’ susceptible to the evolutional vision, I simply chose to leave the beloved space at EdenHope to them. I left to fulfill this compelling vision …to protect the Children who are to depend upon us – the other ‘warriors’ who will join me in the service of this vision. And so I went to seek the space I would call:  ‘…East of Eden’ …in Big Bay, Espiritu Santo.

‘It is said that ‘you can’t go home again’…. But that is a desperate premise …it comes from deficit of spirit. “We are home…! even if still getting used to the idea!”

We share here [in this website] …Spirit-Thoughts and Visions of our own as well as what has been passed on to us by elder Hopi and other ‘Native’ American peoples. We are in awe of the respect in which they hold their devotion. The truth that resonates in their messages …has become our truth – it is a privilege to include some of it here [on this site] for you to contemplate.

Grandfather [‘Stalking Wolf’] was also a powerful guide for us; thus we acknowledge Tom Brown Jr for his deep, abiding respect for grandfather. He has become our ‘grandfather’ too …as we reflect upon the profound wisdom of this Apache legend. His “Night of the Red Sky Prophesy” …is a vision that resonates deeply with us.

There must somewhere be a final word, a moment of final conviction ….when in its totality one can see the whole raison d’etre for our being here. Otherwise the seemingly endless to-ings and fro-ings, cessions and digressions are only discordant moments in a senseless journey. But this is what has, it seems, plagued our species for so long now. Perhaps we now have the opportunity to finally rid ourselves of this recurring disposition to lunacy …to which we so easily fell prey. Perhaps now we can leave it behind …with the rest of the detritus we have wrought.

As we each approach the inevitable altar; it is fitting that we acknowledge the thousands and one generations it has taken us to get here – and appreciate that we are only a small part of the ultimate ‘game’ …and in that humility may we find our Divinity. Aho.

I am reminded of the words of Al Q”yawayma:  “In January 1991 I was invited to attend a joint international meeting between the UN and the Club of Rome, attended by scientists, religious leaders, artists, poets and leaders.

“A theme of the meeting was The Third Millennium. As stated by Thomas Berry, ‘We are entering not simply the twenty-first century, not simply the Third Millennium of our Era, we are entering the Ectozoic Era in the biological story of the planet.

“We are experiencing massive extinctions of living forms on a scale equalled only by the extinctions at the close of the Paleozoic era 220 million years ago and the end of the Mesozoic era 65 million years ago. The only choice we now have before us is how we will participate in the emerging Ectozoic era, forming an integral earth community that includes all the human and non-human elements of planet earth.

“As the meeting progressed. I was struck more and more with the familiarity of the ideas. Finally, I made the connection. Today’s newest thinking of the world as a communion of subjects, and our role in the integral functioning of the natural world – these are ideas that were spoken by Chief Seattle 137 years ago.

“In 1854, the “Great White Chief’ in Washington made an offer for a large area of Indian land and promised a “reservation” for the Indian people. Chief Seattle’s poetic reply is one of the most profound statements ever [made] on the relationship between earth and man:-

“What is man without the beast? If all the beasts
were gone, man would die from a great loneliness
of spirit. For whatever happens to the beasts,
soon happens to man. All things are connected.
Teach your children what we have taught our
children, that the earth is our mother. Whatever
befalls the earth befalls the sons of the earth.
If men spit upon the ground, they spit upon
themselves. This we know: The earth does not
belong to man; man belongs to the earth. This we
know. All things are connected like the blood
which unites one family. All things are
connected. Whatever befalls the earth befalls the
sons of the earth. Man did not weave the web of
life: he is merely a strand in it. Whatever he
does to the web, he does to himself. This earth
is precious to Him (God), and to harm the earth
is to heap contempt on its creator.”

It is in the power of the true Hopi to unify the minds and spirits of all true peace seeking peoples of the earth. ‘Hopi’ means ‘peaceful people,’ and the truest and greatest power, the strength of peace, is the will of the Great Spirit.

Do not think that just because the true Hopi have been told by the Great Spirit never to take up arms, that the true Hopi will not fight, even die for what we know to be the right way of life. The true Hopi know how to fight without killing or hurting.

The true Hopi know how to fight with Truth and Positive Force in the light of the Great Spirit

The true Hopi know how to show to all the world’s children the true way of life by example, by working and communicating in ways that reach the minds and hearts of all people who are truly seeking the way of a simple and spiritual life, which is the only life that will survive.

The true Hopi preserves the sacred knowledge about the way of the earth, because the true Hopi knows that the earth is a living and growing person, and all things on it are her children.

The true Hopi know how to show the right way of life to all the world’s people who have ears to listen, who have eyes to see, and who have hearts to understand these things.

The true Hopi know how to generate enough power to link up the forces of the minds and spirits of all the true Children of the earth, and to unify them with the Positive Force and the Great Spirit, so that they may put an end to affliction and persecution in all afflicted places of this world.

The true Hopi declare that Hopi power be a force which will bring about world change.

We believe that all things are alive, and that they hear and understand us.

The Hopi live on a barren land, but we believe that we were led there by the spirit “Maasau’u”. Our role is to preserve certain knowledge for all mankind – the knowledge necessary for the understanding and preservation of all Nations.”
